Giesegaard Wood
The forest district is a typical deciduous forest area of approximately 1,500 hectares, with beech as the dominant tree species.
However, there are also significant areas with oak and spruce.
Access for Forest Visitors
Forest visitors are welcome on foot along roads and trails from 6 a.m. until sunset.
Trails are defined as permanent, man-made paths and therefore do not include logging tracks, animal paths, or similar. "Off-trail" access is not permitted—this includes walking within forest stands, on uncultivated open areas within the forest, or on any grassy edges along forests or watercourses.
Dogs must always be kept on a leash. Cycling is only allowed on roads and trails suitable for standard bicycles. Access is at your own risk, and visitors should be especially aware of the potential for falling branches.
Access may be temporarily restricted by signage in connection with hunting or logging operations.
Activities and Horse Riding
Permission for organized activities can be obtained by contacting the estate office.
Riding permits are available for selected roads and trails in the forests.
