Line Solsikke
Line Solsikke is known and loved by many children in Ringsted Municipality.
The living mascot, Line Solsikke, came into the world in the summer of 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the Ringsted Children’s Festival was held in a to-go version at all the schools and daycare centers in Ringsted Municipality. It became a huge success through educational videos and songs.
In the learning programs for the Children’s Festival in 2022 and 2023, the Sustainable Development Goals have been a special focus. Through active learning with Line Solsikke, nurseries and kindergartens have had visits and learned about biodiversity.
This has resulted in a clear awareness of biodiversity and waste sorting among children and their parents in Ringsted Municipality, which is practiced at the Ringsted Children’s Festival, and Line Solsikke is recognized by the children, with the learning materials being reusable.
In record time, Line Solsikke has become so popular in Ringsted that the song 'Fest og Farver' (Party and Colors) reached 5,500 views on YouTube in just five weeks. At the actual Children’s Festival, Line Solsikke was so popular that there was a demand to create more songs and videos.
